With submissions from the United States and all over the world (including Canada, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan), the prestigious CAPE New Writers Awards has launched the careers of numerous APA Writers over the past eleven years. The winners of the Screenwriting and Television categories receive a $4,000 cash prize, the latest Final Draft software, a Staged Reading of their winning script, and meetings with prominent entertainment industry producers and executives -- offering them exposure among studio executives, producers, and agents and managers.

Previous winners include Alice Wu's SAVING FACE which served as her directorial debut and was released by Sony Pictures Classics, Young Il Kim, whose winning script HYUNG’S OVERTURE was optioned by producer and CAPE Board of Advisor member Teddy Zee (PURSUIT OF HAPPYNESS), and last year's television winner Aaron Ho, who was staffed on ABC's hit series COUGAR TOWN.
