Just days shy of the busiest month of the year, The Balboa Bay Club & Resort took an evening to celebrate its family of employees. The evening featured the BBC&R's own glamorous Grand Ballroom, along with a delectable spread from its renowned culinary team. This marks the first year the BBC&R family has enjoyed this event at their property, and the pride of it was clear from all the attendees. A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the year-end awards:

Marco Antonio Guzman – Employee of the Year
Juana Hernandez – Manager of the Year
Gina Pateras – President’s Quality Award
Oscar Curiel – Shining Star Award

The evening was capped by a festive dance party, where many of the attendees celebrated until the last song ended. The sentiment throughout the evening was a sense of pride and appreciation for the place, and the people, that many of the employees consider their second home.

A lifelong Angelino, Richard graduated from Cathedral High, received his Bachelor’s in Political Science from Cal State LA, and obtained a Master’s in Education from USC.He is a teacher, a trainer and a friend who has been convening groups all of his professional life. You might also be interested to know that while working toward his PhD, he visited every prison in the state of California researching Latino gang members and the process of community readjustment. Downtowns Womens Center's 14th Annual Gala - Made With Love

The Downtown Womens Center located on San Pedro Street in Los Angeles has been providing support and has fought as an advocate to ending homelessness for women since 1978. They provide meals, housing, and other supportive services to more the 2500 homeless and very low-income women each year. And on this cool September evening in celebration of a years hard work, in an effort to raise awareness of the center and honor The Good News Group a group of women all representing different popular news media outlets who pulled their resources to get the center the things it needed to continue the great work they do for the society. The evening was capped with a live auction moderated by an actual Sotheby's Auctioneer that raised over 50,000 dollars for the Center.Click ANY photo above to see all the photos from the Gala

2011 Long Beach Dragon Boat Festival

One of our very close friends were coming to town to compete in the Dragon Boat Festival and had invited us along to see what Dragon Boat paddling was all about. When we arrived to Marine Stadium in Long Beach we were amazed at the hundreds of people there. There were people from as far as China and Taiwan competing as well as Division I collegiate teams and Team USA competitors. Everyone was packed onto the beach area just adjacent to the stadium and packed tightly to each other making a tent-city of sorts that they each used as home base for the weekend. The people that participated came from all walks of life, from young college kids to moms raising awareness about breast cancer. It was like organized chaos as we watched teams prep for their races and bring their teams to the loading dock at the appropriate times to race. The race our friend Eddie was in was number 48 and a lot of the photos focus on their race which they came from behind and finished second in. This event was a fun experience to see all the people come together and the boats with team of 20 paddlers, a drummer race their way to the finish line, we look forward to seeing their race when it comes back next year too.

On August 25th at the top of the Montage Hotel The Black Card Circle Foundation held an Intimate Mixer and Dinner for its members and affiliates. Founder Lotay Yang put out an open invitation to network, raise awareness and to hear about the great work that the two speakers: Andy Bales, the CEO of the Union Rescue Mission and Charles Lee, the founder of !deation had to share with the group. Other attendees included Actor/Comedian Ben Morrison from MTV's Punk'd, Danielle James from HBO's True Blood, Pauley Perrette from CBS's NCIS along with a roomful of some of the most influential CEO/and board members affiliated with The Black Card Circle. Lastly Chivas Regal was on hand to have the guest sample its Chivas 18 Gold Signature single malt whiskey. The Creme Brulee was pair with a tasting of the Chivas 18 and was a wonderful cap to the evening to inspirational talks and networking.

Calauag Association of CA Dinner Dance

On May 15, 2010 the Calauag Association of California held their first annual dinner dance calling together all the family and friends that were born or raised in the city of Calauag Philippines. The dinner was well attended and featured an installation of officers of the association, as well as stunning ballroom dance performances by their members. At the end of the night everyone was excited with the idea that this would now be an annual event to celebrate their community and homage to the city in which they were born or raised.

On April 19, 2010 the East West Players held their 44th Anniversary Visionary Awards Dinner and Silent Auction at the Universal City Hilton. With the help of their sponsors: Southern California Edison, CBS, FOX, NBC and the Walt Disney Company, they brought the whos-who in the entertainment business to give out four Visionary Awards. "The award salutes artists who have raised the visibility of the Asian Pacific American community through theater, film and television. Proceeds from the evening will benefit East West Players educational and artistic programs." Lea Solanga and Tamilyn Tomita kept the show lively and moving along smoothly as they honored the four awardees:

Jordan Nagai, Actor (voice of Russell in Disney Pixar's "UP")
Mike Shinoda, Musician (Linkin Park), Visual Artist
Wenda Fong, FOX V.P. of Alternative Entertainment

The show was rounded out with some great Asian American performers that have made great strives in influencing the community and the youth at large. The East West Players closed with inviting everyone to celebrate the companies 45th year and announced their upcoming projects.

international pillowfight day 2010

Pillow Fight 2010, inspired by the Urban Playground Movement which "organizes free, fun, all ages, non-commercial public events," was held in the historic Pershing Square in Downtown Los Angeles on April 3, 2010 at 3pm.

We arrived about an hour before the event and could already feel the energy in the air. As we walked down the street to the Sandwich Shop, we sat outside and could see people with both concealed and un-concealed pillows as they made their way to the square.

As the 3 o'clock hour approached, the square began to fill with people young and old: participants came dressed as super-heroes, in their pajamas and other "pillow-fighting apparel." The crowd began a countdown in unison -3-2-1- and then the loud roar of the crowd took over and the feathers immediately began flying. Luckily, as a photographer of the event, we were safe; the only rules of the day were to only hit people with pillows and to NOT hit those carrying cameras.

The event lasted well over one hour and, by the middle of it, all people started tiring out,started setting up camp with their pillows to take breaks between battles. Others continued relentlessly creating alliances with others to target characters like the "Easter bunny", the "Wall Street Man", and the "Guy with no shirt on".

Hope In The City III:"Wear Your Story"

Born three years ago, a collection of artists, activists and passionate people who love fashion came together for their first show at FIDM's park in downtown LA. Now, on March 24th, 2010 they have brought us their latest installation in their story as they reach out to others through local service opportunities and global projects, to which all the proceeds benefited.

The theme of the night was "Wear Your Story." Designers were invited to take part in an experimental part of the show in which they were asked to make a garment out of newspaper that would express each of their personal stories. In addition, the designers showcased their current lines in a great kick-off to LA Fashion Week 2010.

Here are a few of the highlights from the evening's show. Thanks to the staff at Hope in the City and Mosaic.org for giving eye2eyephoto a chance to cover this inspirational event.

March 20, 2010, B.C. Swang Music LLC held its First Annual Black Tie Mixer on the rooftop at Smooth's Bar & Grill in Long Beach, CA. The event was a star-studded event with lots of up-and-coming artists performing throughout the evening. The line up included:

B.C himself emceed the evening, introducing each of the performers while keeping the crowd on their feet during the interludes. The day was mostly cloudy and gloom but that wasn’t enough to stop the Puente Hills Dealer Show Case #2. This time around new vendors such as Mavrik Motorsports, Interstate Tire Distributor, and Green Oil had made an impact on making this dealer show case a great success. The crowd turn-out was consistent throughout the day and it only began to pour after the event had ended. Rally Innovations had built an EvoSoul Ralliart sedan for the dealership which was on display and for sale in the show room during the event. Free raffles, food, and giveaways were a small token of appreciation in supporting Puente Hills Mitsubishi. We hope to see everyone at our next Dealer Showcase event.

Family Concert II: Music and Song with the Piedmont East Bay Children's Choir

Our second concert collaboration with one of the Bay Area’s finest young vocal ensembles. Our theme will be songs about water, and program will also include side-by-side musicians from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music Prep Chamber Orchestra, Berkeley’s Crowden School, and Hillsdale High School in San Mateo.

Anaheim Mitsubishi Dealer Showcase brought to you by Rally Innovations

Rally Innovations, Tarmac Performance and Team AllStars kicked off the New Year by invading Anaheim Mitsubishi. This was their 2nd Dealer Showcase of the series. They had their returning DJ to get the crowd in a groove and music to set the tone for the meet. O.C.’s finest Hooter Girls came to the show and brought Buffalo wings to tame their hunger.

The meet attracted a diverse crowd. There were a vendors displaying their products and entertaining questions. Rally Innovations brought back their well known 'Evo Soul' Evo & Ralliart Sportback, as well as their Kia Forte Tarmac Rally car. The entire Rally Innovations staff was there in full force to represent the company. The International AllStars Automotive team were there keeping the crowd hyped for the raffle while jaw dropping models were walking around and chatting with the enthusiasts.

Eibach, Injen, Banshee Auto Tunin, Work Wheels, and Anaheim Mitsubishi gave away some nice prizes. Work gave away some shirts, license plates and banners. Eibach gave a certificate for ProKit springs. Mike from Road Race Engineering brought his family & donated generously gift certificates. Anaheim Mitsu gave away license plate frames and key fobs to a free car wash. Banshee Auto Tunin gave out some carbon fiber license plate holder/mounts, lanyards, and stickers. Injen gave out the grand prize of an Evo VIII exhaust system.

The showcase had all sorts of cars there, JDM and KDM and USDM. It was nice to see some old EVO VIII’s out. There were Nissans, Kias, Hyundais, Cadillacs, Chevys, Subarus, Mazdas, and of course, Mitsubishis. This showcase welcomed a group of Hyundai Genesis owners who attracted the attention of the neighboring Hyundai dealership. Even Injen brought out their 3.8 V6 Genesis Coupe while Rally Innovations brought their 2.0T Genesis Coupe for a sneak peak of what’s coming for their 2010 arsenal.

Overall the event was a great success. Rally Innovations would like to thank the Anaheim Mitsubishi, as well as their numerous sponsors, and the enthusiast for their continued support.

The International Allstars attended its third San Diego International Autoshow this past weekend, some of the hottest show vehicles in the country. Once again, our partners and sponsors made this year's event a big hit. Some highlights of the event came out of the Allstars' beatbox performance on stage and the bikini contest hosted by members of the International Allstars and Jennifer Ancheta, Director of the Marketing Queens.

We had plenty of giveaways on stage from our sponsors--Bridgestone, Mazda, Lucas Oil, Odyssey and Pioneer DJ. Show-goers loved the swag and it really brought excitement to the crowd. The Allstars had its very own DJ One, spinning throughout the weekend. We had three Marketing Queens working the event all day Saturday, featuring the fresh new face of Miyra Gonzales!

Partners like 5Zigen, Bomex, Eibach, Mazda and Rally Innovations helped display great vehicles and products, entertaining the crowd every day of the show. Extreme Autofest & ShiftR really put on a great event, and we want to thank them for all of their support to the International Allstars over the years.

December 20, 2009 - Puente Hills, CA

Rally Innovations and Puente Hills Mitsubishi partnered to have its first in a series of Dealer Showcases. They had a live DJ, a free taco lunch and lots of raffle giveaways. The event was virtually a huge meet, where people were able to see great new products as well as spend time with friends. The highlight of the show was the presence of the ‘Evo Soul’ Evos, courtesy of Rally Innovations. Both vehicles featured all of the Evo Soul products available from their company. Their friendly staff was also on hand to answer questions and mingle with attendees.

The International Allstars Automotive Marketing team turned out in force, adding giveaways and keeping the crowd hyped throughout the day. The amazing giveaways included free oil changes from the Puente Hills Dealership, DVD’s from Live Sockets, shirts from Work Wheels and Injen, a carbon fiber wing from Seibon and set of Pro-kit springs from Eibach. Overall, the event was a huge success, bringing business to the dealership and letting customers know that they are a “mod-friendly” establishment.
